Results of Our Development Cooperation

In 2023, Fida’s development cooperation reached more than 458,000 people, providing them with the tools and knowledge to improve their lives and shape their own futures. More than 7,7 million people were indirectly impacted by our work.

Together with our partners we have made a significant difference in the rights of children and families in vulnerable situations. Here are some examples of the impact our work is having around the world.

Improving children’s rights to education and safe living environments

In 2023, we strengthened more than 131,000 children’s right to education.

The living environments of 96,000 children became safer.
27,000 pupils benefited from improved schools and classroom facilities, as well as trained teachers in Nepal.

Promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights

We promote menstrual and reproductive health and rights so that no girl’s school is interrupted due to menstruation. As a result of our work, child marriages, poor menstrual hygiene, and sexually transmitted diseases are reduced.

In Bangladesh 300 people receivecd information on gender equality and harmful practices, such as child marriages.

Advancing sustainable development in local societies

We provided people with information and new methods for promoting the sustainable use of the environment, including conservation agriculture and deforestation activities.

10,400 pupils’ and teachers’ knowledge of environmental sustainability and climate change improved
We planted 193,000 trees in 2023.

Contributing to social harmony and building peace

In many very fragile and conflict-prone communities we contributed to building social harmony and peace.

In 2023 in Ethiopia 12,000 people gained new skills to build peace and cohesion.
